The Big Scale Diamond Barb (Hypsibarbus vernayi), also known as the Lemon Fin Barb or Golden Belly Barb, is a captivating freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia, particularly the Mekong Delta region. Renowned for its shimmering scales and active schooling behavior, this species is an excellent choice for aquarists. Reaching up to 12 inches (30 cm) in captivity, they thrive in groups and require well-oxygenated, flowing water environments. A group of 4/5 or more is recommended to promote natural behavior and reduce stress.
