Ruby/Red Scats

The Ruby or Red Scat (Scatophagus argus) is a brilliantly colored variant of the traditional Green Scat, known for its rich red hues and bold patterning. Native to estuaries and coastal waters of Southeast Asia and Northern Australia.

These omnivorous fish are enthusiastic eaters, accepting spirulina flakes, algae wafers, blanched veggies, and protein-rich frozen foods like shrimp or bloodworms. Their diet should be well-rounded to maintain their vibrant coloration and health.
