The giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) is a species of large gourami native to Southeast Asia. They are native to Chao Phraya and Mekong basin in mainland Southeast Asia, and also rivers of Borneo, Java and Sumatra.
This gourami is one of 4 currently recognized species in the Osphronemus genus. This genus is commonly referred to as the giant gouramis and all are very similar in shape and very large.
